RESULTS OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ON LIQUID NANO CURCUMIN OIC

Yellow Turmeric has been used for thousands of years in Eastern countries, including Vietnam because of its ability to cure many diseases. Test on thin layer chromatography

Sample 1: Pure Curcumin (Raw Materials)

Sample 2: Curcumin + Quercetin (Emulsion Microflora Prepared)

• Thin layer chromatography condition: TLC-coated TLC silica gel 60 F254 (Merck)
• Used solvent: Dichloromethane-Toluene-Methanol 5:4:1
• Spot: normal light, ultraviolet light of 254 and 366 nm wavelength, H2SO4 10% reagent.

Comment:

• Besides curcumin, Sample 2 contains Quercetin which is identified at 366 nm wavelength.
• Sample 3 has a negligible amount of impurities, and a compound at the bottom, which is more polarized than natural curcumin in a relatively large amount. That proves that in Sample 3, during Liquid Nano Curcumin OIC ’s synthetic process, there is a chemistry change of curcumin into another compound which is more polarized than curcumin.

UV-vis Analysis

- UV-vis in water and alcohol

By UV-vis spectrum, we found that the position of PICs between the curcumin material and the curcumin product exactly coincide. This shows that the integrity of the functional groups which determines the activity of Curcumin is fully conserved.

- Quantify the concentration of curcumin by UV-vis

Using UV-Vis to quantify the amount of curcumin in the suspension (dilution coefficient x 8000 - 32000 times to build the calibration curve): The result shows good linearity and the curcumin concentration reaches 15- 20%.

Measurement of fluorescent emission

Fluorescent emission spectra at 405 nm, 480 nm and 525 nm wavelengths show the luminescence of curcumin. Thus conjugate groups in p-p in the curcumin molecule are not affected during the Preparation Process Of Emulsion Microflora.

Wrap mechanism, role of PEG, EG

Firstly, the content of Curcumin in nanoparticles of Academy of Science and Technology is approximately 15%, while other products usually only reach below 10%.

Second, the size of nanoparticles is stable, about 30-60 nm, so it can penetrate easily through the cell membrane to promote efficiency.

Third, water solubility is up to hundreds of times more than that of nano curcumin sold in the market.

The structure of the cellular endoplasm is 200nm so nanoparticles of less than 100nm is able to pass through the cell membrane, therefore, it is necessary that the nanoparticle size is less than 50nm. Because if the nanoparticle is less than 50 nanometers, the ability of curcumin to penetrate the cell membrane will increase without a higher percentage of curcumin nanoparticles, with 15% of curcumin content, the ability of healing support is optimized. So, it is not necessary to use too much in order to promote efficiency of the nano curcumin.
